Electro Harmonix STRING9 String Ensemble Effect Pedal
Electro-Harmonix's STRING9 String Ensemble brings a wealth of synthesized strings to your board. Following in EHX's instrument synthesizer pedal tradition, the STRING9 lands as a pedal crafted from a love of strings. Nine effect modes land on the STRING 9 for a wide array of symphonic and synthesized strings alike:
- SYMPHONIC - a recreated symphony with an accompanying octave down
- JUNE-O - an emulation of the Roland Juno analog string synthesizer
- PCM - an emulation of a small string section sampled via a PCM (Pulse Code Modulation) keyboard
- FLOPPY - an emulation of the Vako Orchestron optical disc playback sampler
- AARP - an emulation of the ARP Solina String Ensemble synthesizer
- CREWMAN - an emulation of the Crumar Performer analog synthesizer
- ORCH FREEZE - an orchestral sound with the EHX Freeze effect
- SYNTH FREEZE - a string synthesizer sound with the EHX Freeze effect
- VOX FREEZE - a Mellotron choir and string sound from the EHX MEL9 with the EHX Freeze effect
Two CTRL knobs roll through different voicings on each mode and, with DRY and EFFECT controls alongside them, the STRING9 opens up as a deeply customizable effect pedal. Quick signal tracking and easily adjustable sustain settings keep the STRING9 following close while playing.
The wide array of synthesizer tones on tap in the STRING9 run the gamut from cinematic and progressive onwards. These '70s and '80s-era synths come alive in these emulations and give the STRING9 an extra sense of adventure and exploration. For the symphonic fan or DIY film composer, the EHX STRING9 puts the power of an orchestra into your hands.
