MXR Poly Blue Octave Effect Pedal
With upgrades in every feature and brand new sounds to explore, MXR and the Poly Blue Octave brings MXR's classic octave effects to the next level. With masterful pitch-shifting already in MXR's area of expertise, the Poly Blue Octave shows how much further the experience can go.
The Poly Blue Octave begins with four separate controllable octave divisions – one octave up, two octaves up, one octave down, and two octaves down. Already, the experience at hand is technically advanced and functionally deep. Each octave division is polyphonic and features a dedicated knob to blend into the mix to preference. The Poly Blue Octave's polyphony makes both single notes and chords bloom with MXR octave beauty.
Extra functions build on this quadruple-octave effect pedal. The Poly Blue Octave's Mono switch will set the polyphony effect monophonic to replicate the single note grittiness of analog-style pitch shift effects. Fans of MXR will be familiar with these monophonic tones, from the sub-octave's MXR Vintage Bass Octave tones to the higher octave's Octavio Fuzz signal sounds without the fuzz effect. Those in need of a classic MXR fuzz effect, however, can rely on the Fuzz switch and its MXR Blue Box Fuzz-style buzz. This fuzz effect is applied to all four octave voices in addition to the dry mix control.
With multiple octave outputs and fuzz tones covered, the MXR Poly Blue Octave tacks on one last touch with its Mod control. The dual-mode modulation effect of the pedal can create rotary-style swirls a la Leslie speaker effects in polyphonic mode or sweeping waves like the MXR Phase 90 in monophonic mode. A Mod knob controls the speed of the modulation effect as applied to all five signals. Ease in Mod for colorful flourish or crank it to let the effect loose for absolute modulated craziness.
Expression connection through the EXP ¼" output allows for deeper interaction with the Poly Blue Octave's effects. The Dunlop Volume (X) 8 or the MXR Tap Tempo can be used to sweep between different knob configurations or toggle the fuzz or mono settings on and off – hands free.
With multiple effects equipped, the Poly Blue Octave carries a board's worth of pitch shifting, distorting, and modulating effects in a compact pedal. Functions for endless experimentation and effortless musicality make the Poly Blue Octave shine. Cutting-edge and imaginative, MXR and their mastery of octave effects strike again.
